Email Good Practice

Simple tips for making your emails as accessible as possible:

  • Use a sans serif font like Calibri, Arial or Helvetica (not Times New Roman)
  • Use a minimum font size of 12 points - how to permanently change your font size in Outlook
  • Left align your text
  • Avoid all caps and italics, where possible
  • Always add Alt Text descriptions to any images (right click on the image to access the Edit Alt Text facility)
  • Use descriptive links (don't use 'Click Here')
