J.S.C. Collection

This collection comprises almost 500 pamphlets, broadsides and books with English, Scottish and Irish imprints covering the decade 1690-99; mainly sermons and political tracts (with a few plays, e.g. by Dryden). It was purchased as the Library contribution to a co-operative acquisitions scheme of "background materials", which was run from 1952 by the Joint Standing Committee on Library Co-operation of the Standing Conference of National and University Libraries. Additions are no longer made to the J.S.C. Collection.
