World Changing Glasgow: Conversations

COVID-19 and the global economy

From Joseph Lister, James Watt and Adam Smith to the detection of Gravitational Waves and the search for a COVID-19 vaccine, for over five centuries, the University of Glasgow has been the home of knowledge, discovery and ideas that change the world.

In this new series of online events, we're connecting leaders in our community of researchers, partners, and alumni to drive change and deliver impact through meaningful debate.

In the inaugural event, live streamed on 28 October, the University’s Principal & Vice Chancellor, leading economist Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli, and alumnus Kevin Sneader, Global Managing Partner of McKinsey & Co, discussed the impact of the pandemic on economies and how governments and business might reset for growth and find their way to “the next normal”.
