Draft Ordinance 212 for consultation
In accordance with Section 4 of the Universities (Scotland) Act 1966, please find below details of a draft Ordinance for consideration by the General Council. The draft has been approved by the University Court for consultation.
DRAFT ORDINANCE 212: AMENDMENT OF ORDINANCE NO. 208 (ELECTION OF THE CHANCELLOR; AND ELECTION OF GENERAL COUNCIL ASSESSORS OF THE UNIVERSITY COURT) AND ORDINANCE NO. 209 (COMPOSITION OF THE UNIVERSITY COURT)
The proposed amendments to the Ordinances will preserve the General Council’s entitlement to appoint two representatives to Court and a formal joint appointment process with the GCBC will be established. The intention of these changes is to enhance the rigour and effectiveness of the appointment process, ensuring the identification and selection of candidates from a diverse background with the skills and expertise to contribute to the University’s governing body.
