Glasgow Science Festival

Rachel Leckie has been an incredible support to Glasgow Science Festival through her role at the Riverside Musuem since 2011. Rachel has helped support a huge range of researchers with all kinds of ideas including a 100m race track, robots being delivered by forklift truck and Virtual Reality experiences in cars!

'My role is bringing learning, fun and engagement to the Riverside Musuem to bring the displays to life and make it accessible for everyone. My career was very arts focused until the Glasgow Science Festival came to the Riverside Musuem 14 years ago and I suddenly fell in love with science again. It was always something I was interested in, and although my career didn’t go that way, I realised I could bring the two things together and bring science back into my career. The first year I saw the festival it blew me away. An astronaut and a woman that designed the gloves the astronauts wear came to the Riverside Museum. So, you never know, you could be the next person to inspire someone’s career!'
