Take a journey back to 1720s Edinburgh, with a programme centred around poet and playwright Allan Ramsay (c. 1694-1758). Trad singers Iona Fyfe and Alasdair Roberts perform Ramsay’s Scots songs from the seminal collection The Tea-Table Miscellany, with David McGuinness, Gabi Maas, Aaron McGregor and Alex McCartney perform Scots tune settings by Ramsay’s musical circle, including William McGibbon and James Oswald. Bring your instruments for an informal session after the concert.
This concert is possible thanks to generous funding and support from Continuo Foundation, the Hope Scott Trust, the Arts & Humanities Research Council and University of Glasgow.
