Giving to Sport

By making a donation to Sport at Glasgow you can support our student athletes in achieving their academic and athletic potential.

You can choose to direct your gift to our Sports Bursary programme to support the University’s most talented athletes competing at the highest levels, or support the development of student run Club Sport to engage more students in competitive sport whilst at University.

Sports Bursary Fund

The Sports Bursary Fund provides vital support for talented student athletes in their quest to perform at the highest level both academically and on the sporting stage.

Student athletes from the University have excelled in international sport in recent years with five students competing in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and two students, Laura Muir and Camilla Hattersley, representing Team GB at the Rio Olympics in 2016 whilst also completing their Veterinary Medicine degrees.

Contributions to the Sports Bursary Fund provide invaluable support to talented athletes like these by helping them to achieve their potential.

Club Sport Development

Student led Club Sport is an integral part of the student experience. Club Sport supports students to build social networks, gain volunteering and leadership experiences and helps integrate students in the University Community through competitive representation.  By making a gift to club level sport you will enhance the experience for current and future student sport stars and encourage greater participation.

Support for clubs helps their sustainability and development through allowing clubs to purchase essential equipment, access top level coaching and officiating courses.  This fund also supports clubs with the costs of progressing in BUCS leagues and Cups.
