A critical examination of the conditions of remand in Scotland

I feel it’s one of the key experiences at university that has prepared me for a career!

Undertaking a collaborative dissertation was something I thoroughly enjoyed doing and I feel it’s one of the key experiences at university that has prepared me for a career. It also is a great talking point in interviews. Both the university, my supervisor and Emma and Kristen from the SVRU made my experience even better. They were never shy to offer me support, especially during COVID times where things have been more difficult, it felt like I had three people who wanted me to achieve my best and were willing to help me to get to that point. I can’t recommend doing a collaborative dissertation any more, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience.

- Amy Currie, MSc Transnational Crime, Justice & Security

We had a really positive experience working in partnership with Glasgow University and appreciated the opportunity to work with an excellent student. Amy worked hard, maintained communication throughout the process, and responded flexibly to the challenges presented by conducting research within the context of on-going COVID-19 restrictions. I would recommend that other organisations consider taking part in this collaborative dissertation programme.
