Encompass

It’s not easy running an organisation in a challenging economy and it’s certainly not easy to identify a route to financial sustainability.

The University of Glasgow leads on a project called Encompass which assists Scottish small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and charitable organisations to find, focus and fund innovation that can positively impact your organisation and help uncover new business directions.

In collaboration with the College of Arts, Encompass can offer guidance in how to shape your thoughts and ideas to find new, better or different ways to grow your organisation and increase the likelihood of financial sustainability for the future. Encompass can also help with funding via the provision of £5k Innovation Funding Vouchers (formerly known as First Step Awards).

Examples of how First Step Awards have been used to develop partnerships within the College of Arts are available in the following articles:

Microphonics - "Linguists Assist English Teaching Technology"

Annandale - "Awakening Annandale's Past"

East Kilbride and District Housing Association - "The Tenant Experience in Social Housing"
