Mental Health & Wellbeing

The Arts & Humanities Partnership Catalyst for Mental Health & Wellbeing takes as its focus the contributions that arts and humanities research, and cross-sector partnerships which engage with the arts, make to supporting good mental health and wellbeing. Whether that’s enjoying live music, theatre, or comedy, visiting libraries, galleries, and museums, or engaging in personal or collaborative artistic endeavours, recent research has demonstrated the many ways in which the arts and humanities can enhance our lives. Yet they can also be driven by political interests or threatened by economic imperatives. The Catalyst activity will therefore seek to identify and address challenges faced by researchers, professionals, and practitioners across the arts and humanities that effect their ability to support good mental health and wellbeing. This will inform the development of partnerships and co-created projects that can meet cross-sectoral needs.
