Confirmation of Acceptance (CAS)
As you prepare for your studies, it is important to receive your Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) to allow you to apply for your visa in plenty of time.
CAS is an online document which is issued by the University via the The UK Visas and Immigration department. It states some of your details as well as the details of your offer of study and course.
You will need a valid CAS to apply for a Student visa either inside or outside the UK and will copy the information from the CAS onto your Student visa application form.
Receiving your CAS
If you hold a conditional offer, you must:
- upload all required documents to meet the conditions of your offer (make sure you have uploaded a passport)
- (once documents have been approved), wait for an unconditional offer - this can take 5-10 working days
- accept one unconditional offer online when you receive it.
If you hold an unconditional offer, you must:
accept one unconditional offer online
Your CAS will be ready for submission within 5-10 working days for unconditional acceptances made from 22 June onwards.
If you require a Visa to study in the UK, please ensure that you have reviewed the Applicant Self Service CAS tile and "Approve" or "Requested Changes" to your details.
If you have agreed with your School that you will not travel until after the Latest Arrival Date in the UK, please select Request Changes and provide a summary of your agreement and the revised Latest Arrival Date in the UK.
You can view Applicant Self-Service to check for any missing information we may require to issue your CAS and upload any outstanding documents to speed up the process.
