Transfers, cancellations, withdrawals and refunds

Transfers

Once you have enrolled on a course you will not have the option to transfer so please ensure that the course of study is right for you.

Cancellation of courses

Classes with low enrolments will be subject to cancellation and where possible, a week's notice will be given.

When a course is cancelled, a full refund of fees paid will be made. Please note that if fees have been paid for by cheque then a refund will be made by cheque and this can take up to 30 days.

Fees paid by credit or debit card will be refunded to the card number provided at the time of enrolment.

Postponement of classes

In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, when classes might have to be postponed at short notice, we will make every effort to relay the information via email.

Withdrawals

If you decide to withdraw from a course, then you must tell us in writing:

Please note:

  • Self-funded students will not be issued with a refund unless the withdrawal is related to a medical issue or other exceptional mitigating circumstances. For full details of the refund policy and process, please see the Refund section below.
  • Students in receipt of SAAS Part-time Fee Grant may be liable for the full course fee upon withdrawing. If SAAS is paying your fees and you wish to withdraw, please contact shortcourses@glasgow.ac.uk for further advice.

Refunds

A full refund will be issued in the following circumstances:

  • A course is cancelled.
  • A student withdraws within 14 days of signing up.

A full or partial refund may be issued in the following circumstances

  • The withdrawal is related to a medical issue. In such instances a medical certificate must be provided.
  • Other exceptional mitigating circumstances.

 All refunds will be paid back as follows:

  • Debit card: Debit card used for original payment
  • Credit Card: Credit card used for original payment
  • Cheque from student: Cheque refund
  • Cheque from other sponsor: Cheque refund

Please allow 30 days from requesting a refund to receiving it.
