Dr Jose Rafael Verduzco-Torres

  • Lecturer in Urban Analytics (Urban Studies)

Biography

Rafael was appointed as a Research Associate in Urban Transport Analytics at the Urban Big Data Centre (UBDC) in November 2022. His work centres on utilising digital footprint data and innovative methodologies to address urban mobility and transport research questions with a quantitative emphasis. Before joining the UBDC, he contributed to several teaching and research projects across various departments at the University of Glasgow.

Additionally, between 2011 and 2018, he worked for different government transport agencies and local governments in Mexico, focusing on the design and implementation of transport policies. Rafael completed his PhD in Urban Studies at the University of Glasgow in 2022, with his thesis titled "Revisiting the Capitalisation of Public Transport Accessibility into Residential Land Value: An Empirical Analysis Drawing on Open Science" available here.
