I joined the School of Social and Political Sciences in 2022 after completing my doctoral studies at the University of Sussex. I have also worked at University College London and the School of Oriental and African Studies.

My research focuses on Scottish politics, especially the evolution of the Scottish party system and local politics in Scotland. I also have a focus on Scotland in a comparative European perspective, and European party politics more generally. I am currently working on two projects, a book on the historical development of the Scottish political system, and a review of the health of democracy in Scotland.
