Research on Migration Informing UK Government Policy
Lead Researcher: Professor Sergi Pardos-Prado
Professor Sergi Pardos-Prado was appointed a member of the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) in May 2021. The MAC is an independent, non-statutory, non-time limited, non-departmental public body that advises the UK government on migration issues. Sergi was appointed on the basis of his academic work on how labour markets, welfare state designs, and immigration policy regimes affect migrant integration and inter-ethnic conflict. In the short term, his input will inform the recommendations of the MAC on two ongoing consultations from the Government: a review of the Intra-company Transfer immigration route, and the impact of the ending of freedom of movement on the social care sector.
