Join Les Back as he takes us on journey about community, what that means, how it’s formed and how it can be rebuilt
The School of Social & Political Sciences is delighted to launch our second season of Recovering Community, a podcast rooted in understanding what community is, how communities are formed and how a community can be rebuilt.
Over the next five episodes, Professor Les Back from our Sociology subject research area, will guide you through Clydebank urban wastelands and the decolonisation of the Hunterian museum collections to meeting the Soup'erheroes of Castlemilk and understanding homelessness in Glasgow with We See You. Throughout the episodes you will meet people who are at the core of the story, sharing their perspectives and insights as we look to understand and uncover more.
Each episode is filled with heart and thought-provoking tales as we seek to uncover what builds and binds community. A bonus fifth episode on place-making in Sheffield will be dropping soon to keep an eye for that!
Listen to Recovering Community Season here or find the episodes on your preferred podcast platform.
You can also catch up with Season 1 of Recovering Community, where Professor Anne Kerr is joined by academics, campaigners, volunteers and artists to discuss community across many forms.
