Induction day for our 3rd year Nankai students spending a year in Glasgow
Friday 13th is not always unlucky for some as the sun was shining for the induction day for our 3rd year Nankai students. Studying Urban Management, the students have spent two years at Nankai University and will now study at Glasgow, within Urban Studies, for their third year.
While here they will choose from compulsary and optional courses which will allow them to meet and work with other students outside their Urban Management cohort. Glasgow has a strong partnership with Nankai and students have been coming here for a few years now. Some even return to Glasgow to do their Masters within the School.
Dr Jing Yao is the programme convenor for the students while they are based in Glasgow and will oversee their progress and be here to lend them a friendly ear.
Although this is the first official day of class, the students have been in Glasgow for a month already working on their English skills. They have been impressed with the city so far: the architecture, how close it is to our gorgeous Scottish scenery, but mostly how friendly and welcoming the people are.
We welcome you all to the School and hope you enjoy your year here!
