Translational Model of Schizophrenia: Cognitive profiling

The FDA has recently highlighted the importance of preclinical models that map onto human cognitive domains as a way of assessing novel cognition enhancing drugs.

Since only the PsyRING model reproduces hypofrontality, only the PsyRING model is causing cognitive deficits analagous to those in schizophrenia.

The PsyRING translational model more closely and directly replicates cognitive deficits - as evidenced by the animals' performance in a 5 choice serial reaction time task (5-CSRTT) providing a better assessment of drug efficacy and performance in the clinic.

Only PsyRING can offer the following range of cognitive behavioural tests mapping onto deficits in patients:

• Attention set shift task
