Structures in hot atoms

3D beam reconstruction by fluorescence imaging

We can visualise the 3D shape of light beams by mapping its fluorescence in an atomic vapour.  This is a non-invasive technique, capable of obtaining the full spatial structure of a light beam at high resolution.‌
