Undergraduate degree programmes
We have an expanded programme of Languages for International Mobility, with courses offered in various languages. These courses, which are worth 10 credits each, are aimed at students who are interested in learning a language but for whom courses in SMLC's language degree provision may be unsuitable or unavailable.
Glasgow-Nankai Translation Studies
The Translation Studies Glasgow-Nankai MSc offers a multi-disciplinary, applied approach to research and the benefits of working with many close connections with Translation Studies scholars and practitioners within the UK and China. The MSc programme provides the knowledge and skills for both postgraduate work (including PhD projects) and careers in translation, enjoying the opportunities and stimulating experiences that both Universities have to offer. More than 1500 undergraduate students are studying languages at Glasgow.
We offer undergraduate programmes in French, German, Hispanic Studies, Italian, Russian and Spanish. These programmes offer not only expertise in language but also in the literature, culture, history, music and film of the countries in question.
We also offer a programme of study in Comparative Literature which allows the optional study of a foreign language. Other languages including Catalan, Czech, Polish and Portuguese can be studied as part of the programmes listed above.
