Dental School wins NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Excellence in Education Award

Following an excellent outcome to the inspection of the Bachelor of Dental Surgery Programme at Glasgow by the General Dental Council in April 2019, the BDS Course has been presented with an Excellence in Education Award by NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.

Following an excellent outcome to the inspection of the Bachelor of Dental Surgery Programme at Glasgow by the General Dental Council in April 2019, the BDS Course has been presented with an Excellence in Education Award by NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. The Course was nominated by Mrs Frances McLinden, General Manager of Regional Services for NHS GGC. The award ceremony took place on Wednesday 25th September in the lecture Theatre at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Learning & Teaching Centre. 

The award was presented to Dr Aileen Bell, Director of Dental Education and Mrs Jackie Wilson, Clinical Services Manager at Glasgow Dental Hospital by Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak, Head of the University of Glasgow College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences.

This has been a very good year for the Dental School, which is ranked first in the UK for Dentistry in the Complete University Guide 2020, for the second year in a row. It is also top of The Times / The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020.
