Successes of students within the School

Viva Success

Randa Alharbi has successfully defended her thesis. Randa's research was on bayesian Inference Over Markov Chain Models. She was supervised by Vlad Vyshemirsky.

Cameline Orlendo successfully defended her thesis on Tuesday 12th February. Cameline's research was on mathematical modelling of species range expansion with climate- driven range shifts. She was supervised by Christina A Cobbold.

Danyang Wang successfully defended her thesis on Thursday 28th February. Danyang's research was on flows in flexible vessels. She was supervised by Xiaoyu Luo and Peter Stewart.

Salihah Alghamdi successfully defended her thesis on Friday 1st March. Salihah's research was on analysis of Spatially correlated functional data objects. She was supervised by Surajit Ray.

Robertson Medal awarded to PhD student in Mathematics and Statistics

On Tuesday 8th January, PhD student Ross Paterson, received the Robertson Medal in Science, Engineering & Technologies for academic year 2018-19. Ross is supervised by Alex Bartel and Gwyn Bellamy and funded by the Carnegie Trust.

The silver medal is awarded each year to the Scholarship candidate judged to be the most outstanding for that year’ competition. The medal was introduced in 2003 to mark the contribution of the retiring Chairman of the Trust, Sir Lewis Robertson, who served the Trust for over 40 years.
