Impact and knowledge exchange

Our research in public law seeks to have an impact on constitutional development and on government, particularly processes of law-making, implementation and enforcement and of public administration.

Members of the public law group have made an impact and promoted knowledge exchange in several areas including:

The Changing Constitution of Scotland and the UK

Tom Mullen is the Secretary of the Scottish Constitutional Futures Forum and members of the group contribute to its blog and the School of Law blog regularly.

Adam Tomkins was previously Legal Adviser to the House of Lords Constitution Committee

Administrative Justice

Tom Mullen was a member of the Scottish Tribunals and Administrative Justice Advisory Committee (2013-2015) and is a member of the core team of the UK Administrative Justice Institute 

Human Rights

Jim Murdoch is a regular participant in the Council of Europe seminar programme and visits to Central and East European states and has developed a particular interest in non-judicial human rights enforcement mechanisms.
