Title: Engineering bacterial helper cells for incorporation into living materials
Synopsis: Engineered living materials are materials that augment manmade synthetic materials with living cells to create materials with dynamic, biomimetic properties. In this seminar I will discuss efforts to engineer E. coli for incorporation into engineered living materials with the ultimate goal of creating a synthetic tissue model.
Bio: Dave Mark is a PDRA in the Roe Lab, working on engineering bacterial cells for the Printed Symbiotic Living Tissues (PRISM-LT) consortium.
