The School of Infection & Immunity was delighted to learn that Sii Senior Lecturer Dr Megan Macleod has been appointed MVLS Associate Dean of Postgraduate Research (PGR).

A University of Glasgow Immunology BSc graduate with a PhD in Immunology from the University of Edinburgh, she returned to UofG in 2012 to take up a Career Development Research Fellowship from Arthritis Research UK.

Dr MacLeod became a lecturer in 2017 and a senior lecturer in 2019, and combines the role with active involvement in the British Society for Immunology, serving as the Scottish representative on the BSI’s Forum and secretary for the West of Scotland Immunology Group.

Effective from yesterday, Thursday, 1 May 2025, the new Associate Dean position will see Dr Macleod support Professor Stuart Nicklin, MVLS Dean of Postgraduate Research, to assess and enrich the experience of PGR students.

Announcing the news, Head of College Professor Iain McInnes said: "I write to advise you that Professor Chris Finlay, Dr William Miller and Dr Emily Nordmann have been appointed as MVLS Associate Deans of Learning & Teaching (L&T).

"The new Associate Deans of L&T will start from 1 June 2025, and will support Professor Cheryl Woolhead, MVLS Dean of Learning & Teaching, in areas such as developing and executing the College Education Strategy, student engagement and employability, and curriculum development.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the previous Associate Deans – Professor Iain Johnstone, Professor Joseph Gray and Professor Simon Guild - for their support, hard work, and commitment to this role over the past few years.

"I would also like to announce that Dr Megan Macleod has been appointed as MVLS Associate Dean of Postgraduate Research (PGR).

"This new Associate Dean position will support Prof Stuart Nicklin, MVLS Dean of Postgraduate Research, to review and enhance the PGR experience. Megan will start in this role from 1 May 2025."
