Biography

As Research Manager for the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit, I support the Unit Director in research strategy and policy development and oversee the management of a large and diverse funding portfolio (£5m - £6m a year). I help coordinate large funding applications and lead a team of >20 professional services staff that delivers efficient and effective research support activities for the Unit.

I’m currently on a 50% secondment in the University’s Research & Innovation Services department where I am a Strategic Research Initiatives Manager. In this role I am helping to create an integrated research support ecosystem and foster cross-disciplinary collaboration within the University.

From 2021 to 2023, I chaired the School of Health and Wellbeing's Athena Swan group for Professional Services staff. I have been an Athena Swan reviewer and panellist for Advance HE’s Equality Charters Unit since November 2019.
