ACE Centre - Trainee Teaching
The West of Scotland Higher Training Scheme in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry has recently been rated number 1 in the UK. One reason for this excellent rating is the strong research and teaching input into the development of trainees. Our team supervises many higher trainees and organises the supervision of all of them in their research. This has resulted in an increased rate of trainee publications and some have gone on to higher degrees. We have recently introduced a system of join trainee monitoring of clinical and research progress and once a year all trainees are offered training from a member of our team alongside an NHS librarian in critical appraisal and literature reviewing.
