SPHSU at COP26

The MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit's Jon Olsen, Anne Martin and Petra Meier each contributed to COP26, the UN Climate Change Conference, in October/November 2021

Several members of the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit took part in COP26 Blue and Green Zone events in October/November 2021.

Jon Olsen was chosen to take part in the COP26 Universities Network exhibition at Glasgow Science Centre. Jon showed this short video about his research which found links between what’s "on the ground" in cities and inequalities in resident’s life satisfaction.

Anne Martin presented at a COP26 Blue Zone event on fostering connections between nature and play for children’s wellbeing and resilience, part of the Resilience Hub.

And Petra Meier took part in a discussion panel attended by 15 year old girls from schools across Glasgow, and explored local and global issues relating to the climate emergency, with a special focus on women and girls.
