Dr Hamish Foster, a GP based in General Practice and Primary Care, has been awarded a prestigious MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship.

Photo of Hamish FosterThe Clinical Research Training Fellowship Scheme supports clinicians, including (but not limited to) medics, surgeons, dentists, clinical psychologists, public health specialty trainees, allied health professionals, nurses, midwives and veterinarians, to undertake a PhD or other higher research degree. 

Hamish's 3-year mixed-methods PhD entitled ‘Understanding interactions between lifestyle and deprivation to support policy and intervention development’ started in March 2020.

Hamish will continue to work 1 day/week as a GP in Drumchapel.
