Biography

Dr Sheng Wang joined the University of Glasgow as a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in 2025. Before that, he was a Lecturer at Cardiff University between 2020 and 2025.

Research interests

He has nearly 15+ years of experience in DC power networks and power electronics (PE). He has acted as principal or co-investigator in 18 projects.

Ongoing projects cover the development of active gate drivers, reliability analysis of PE, data-driven-based design optimisation of compound-semiconductor-based converters, DC technology for offshore wind energy integration, solar battery energy storage systems, and protection solutions for low to high-voltage DC power systems.
