Dr Olaoluwa Popoola

Biography
Olaoluwa R. Popoola received a First Class (Hons.) degree in electronic and electrical engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria, a Distinction during his MEng in Communication Engineering, and a PhD degree from Glasgow Caledonian University. During his PhD, he was awarded a best poster award from the Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance (SICSA) PhD conference, and his research under the supervision of Dr Sinan Sinanović was nominated for Times Higher Education (THE) technology innovation of the year award in 2018.
Olaoluwa has about 10 years’ experience working in Higher education, delivering his teaching in Nigeria, the UK, and China. He worked as a research assistant at Glasgow Caledonian University and a research associate at the University of Strathclyde, looking into medical robotics. Olaoluwa has won Glasgow GKEF grants and EPSRC IAA grants and is currently a Lecturer at the University of Glasgow, a senior member IEEE, a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, a member of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, Registered Engineer, COREN, and a Registered Member of the Engineering Council, U.K.
