Professor Ellen Boeren delivered keynote address at the annual conference of the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA).

The annual conference of the European Association for the Education of Adults brings together policy makers, practitioners, academics and students from a wide range of European countries. This year’s conference was held online and focussed on Outreach and Access. It was facilitated through Zoom on 19 and 20 November 2020.

Professor Ellen Boeren, a PPSC member, was invited to speak about outreach and access in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. She spoke about key insights from her own research that can either facilitate or hinder access and made reflections on the role of funding, the combination of work, learning and family duties as well as the potential uncertainties in relation to future of work and the economy. A Q&A session with the audience was facilitated by secretary general of the EAEA Gina Ebner.
