Dr. Willie McGuire has been made a Senior Fellow of the Staff and Educational Development Association (SFSEDA). This award recognises institutional, national, and international development work to improve learning and teaching in Higher Education.

Willie may be the only person to hold both PFHEA and SFSEDA in this University. There is no Principal level in the SEDA framework, so this is the highest level attainable. Globally, there are approximately 1,300 Principal Fellows, but the number of academics holding both PF and SF status reduces to double figures, to put the rarity of the twin awards into perspective.
