A lively conversation with internationally renowned anthropologist Tim Ingold, tackling the big questions on what makes a good life with warmth and irreverence in equal measure.
Tim will discuss the big topics that have shaped his life and career – anthropology and education – framing these experiences and insights in terms of what it means to live a good life. For Tim, the decision to study anthropology was a life choice borne out of the desire to explore and understand the human condition from different cultural perspectives. He will share the lessons learned from his research and time spent living in different cultural settings, with a particular focus on the relationship between humans and nature. Tim will also discuss his involvement in the ‘Reclaim the University’ movement which questioned prevalent neoliberal ideas and encouraged the development of an education system that promotes and supports growth throughout life.
