Project authors publish supplementary report to help understand nature of Curriculum for Wales
Researchers working on the Camau i’r Dyfodol project have published a supplementary report that aims to help improve understanding of the curriculum model underpinning Curriculum for Wales (CfW).
The content analysis was produced following the publication of the full Camau i’r Dyfodol report earlier this year. The supplementary report is designed to help educators to create curriculum locally in ways that are aligned with the curriculum framework.
The analysis found that overall, the Curriculum for Wales framework aligns with a process (learner development) model of curriculum design. However, the report highlighted a number of areas where sections of the curriculum seemed to be aligned with different models. The authors offered several recommendations designed to improve internal consistency and alignment.
Funded by the Welsh Government, the Camau i’r Dyfodol research project was a collaboration between The University of Glasgow and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), designed to support education professionals in Wales to advance practical understandings of progression in learning as they worked to realise Curriculum for Wales.
