How to find us

The School of Education is housed in the St. Andrew's building in the main Gilmorehill campus. It is in the cosmopolitan West End of Glasgow, just three miles away from the vibrant city centre and adjacent to the city’s best loved historic parks, Kelvingrove Park.

Buses

Routes 11 and 44 runs through the main campus from the city centre. Numerous other routes serve Dumbarton Road, Great Western Road and Byres Road. A seasonal tourist bus stops at the University Main Building. 

Underground

Kelvinbridge station is the the nearest station for St. Andrew's building, which is a mere 5 minutes walk away. The main station for the University Main Building is Hillhead. More information on travel by subway and ticketing options can be found on the SPT (Strathclyde Partnership for Transport) website.

Local trains

The nearest suburban rail station is Partick or Charing Cross. Partick station has an interchange with the underground and with bus services on Dumbarton Road. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk from the Charing Cross rail station to the St. Andrew's building or 20-30 minutes from the Patrick rail station. Taxis

Black taxi cabs can be picked up at most times in the University area and the city centre. 

Cycle racks

Cycle racks are provided on campus at A21, B3, B4, E1 and E2 (see ).

Parking information

Street parking surrounding the building is available and is meter controlled.

Please note that there are a number of designated parking bays available for disabled blue badge holders, in the small car park at the front of the St. Andrew's Building. They are available on a first come, first served basis. To register your requirement to use one of these bays, or other bays elsewhere on campus, please contact Irene Vezza on 0141 330 1823 or at i.vezza@educ.gla.ac.uk.

DisabledGo are a social enterprise who complete access audits for disabled users of public, private and voluntary sector buildings. This audit provides detailed accessibility information to assist disabled people visiting buildings across campus.

Accessible maps

The University has produced accessible maps for the main campus. These highlight where there are accessible parking spaces and toilets.

Mobility Scooters

Student Disability Service has two mobility scooters available for students and staff for hire (no charge) for assistance in crossing the campus. Please contact the service directly to find out further details.
