Students ready to demonstrate life saving techniques

Friday the 16th of October was European Restart a Heart Day and a group of undergraduate dental students went to Glasgow Science Centre to raise awareness. The aim was to inform people how to identify cardiac arrest, give them confidence to help and teach them to perform CPR with the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

The event was a huge success with 175 Science Centre patrons attending our workshop, the majority of whom were children. Each individual received a certificate for their efforts and the children loved our word searches and colouring sheets. These were also aimed at raising awareness but in a fun interactive way to motivate the children.

Watch out for the related article on our superb undergraduates in the November issue of Scottish Dental magazine (http://sdmag.co.uk/magazine/ ).
