Conference accommodation

We have reserved a number of rooms in Cairncross House for three nights from Wed 1-Sat 4 September. This accommodation is included in the full registration cost (see Registration). Cairncross House is a large university hall of residence with limited self-catering facilities and shared bathrooms, approximately 15 mins walk from the university. While we have moved the main conference accommodation to this venue due to its larger number of rooms, the high interest in this conference means that we cannot guarantee accommodation for all delegates: rooms will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Arriving at Cairncross House

Check in is open at Cairncross House around the clock, but rooms will not be available on the day of arrival (Wed 1st) until after 2pm. If you
plan to arrive before 2pm, you can leave your luggage there. Local maps and information are available from the reception desk in Cairncross
House, and it is a 15 minute walk from there to the main university building, where the conference is taking place.

Alternative accommodation

A limited number of ensuite rooms are available in university accommodation at Queen Margaret Residences. Delegates interested in these rooms should book them as individuals, via the Conference and Visitor Services website.

There are numerous hotels and B&Bs of varying cost in the immediate vicinity of the university. The Conference and Visitor Services Office has a free hotel booking service, offering discounted rates on local hotels. Please see here for details.

We have also compiled a list of additional hotels and B&Bs close to the conference venue: BAVS Glasgow Accommodation Guide
