CCPR out in force at MeCCSA2019

CCPR academics covered the waterfront at the Media Communications and Cultural Studies Association’s 2019 annual conference on 9-11 January 2019. The topic was ‘Continuity and change: media, communications and politics’ was held at the University of Stirling, with over 200 delegates attending from 19 different countries.

#MeCCSA2019. Raymond Boyle spoke about his new book, The Talent Industry, chaired a session on the film and TV industries, and contributed to the round-table on media production in Scotland, as did Inge Sørensen. Inge also chaired and spoke at the session on MeToo. Kenny Barr and Mike O’Neill both drew on CCPR’s current 'Television Production in Transition' project to present new findings while CCPR PhD students presented current research, with Stephanie Rattigan discussing the Scottish Film Council’s Industrial Panel, and Anne McCluskey focusing on BBC Nations and Regions arts policy.
The University of Stirling organising team won wide acclaim for organising an excellent conference. This was the first time ever that MeCCSA had moved north of the border.
