Twenty-first century literacy debated

On 21 March, CCPR hosted an end-of-project seminar on 'Twenty-first century literacy', which focused on the impact of communications technologies on schooling and the implications for reform of the curriculum.

On 21 March, CCPR hosted an end-of-project seminar on 'Twenty-first century literacy', which focused on the impact of communications technologies on schooling and the implications for reform of the curriculum.  The keynote address was given by Professor Sonia Livingstone of the Department of Media and Communications at the LSE, while Dr Katherine Champion presented CCPR's research report.  The study was financed by an award from Creative Scotland.  The seminar included key figures from the BBC, Ofcom Scotland, the Scottish Qualification Agency, Education Scotland, and the Centre for the Moving Image, along with academic specialists from universities in Scotland and England.
