Launch of Towards A Somatic Music network with performance and film as part of this year's Sound Festival.
New work by Professor Björn Heile - 3x10 Musical Actions for three Socially Distanced Performers - is premiered at the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen next week [20th October]
Björn’s piece will be performed by Ensemble Thing with Heather Roche, alongside work by Martin Iddon, Raymond McDonald, Lisa Robertson, and our PhD student, Oli Jan.
The event, ‘Somatic Music, An Experiment in Music and Embodied Cognition’, is part of The Sound Festival 2021 and tickets are available in advance.
It also marks one of the first fruits of the RSE funded network, ‘Towards a Somatic Music’, which is also the umbrella under which a new film featuring Sonic Bothy called the ‘The Resonance Is Joy Part 1: Inside Sound Out’. The film will be broadcast on Wednesday 20th at 4pm and available via The Sound festival thereafter.
