Biography

Myzoon has a background in Neuroscience and completed a PhD at the University of Glasgow where she worked to establish the Virtual International Stroke Trials Archive (VISTA), a resource comprising anonymised participant data from acute stroke clinical trials, for use in novel exploratory analyses.Since completion of her PhD, she has continued to work part-time within SCMH to expand VISTA to include 7 additional sub archives of anonymised data on intracerebral haemorrhage, stroke rehabilitation, secondary prevention, observational studies, imaging, endovascular approaches and cognition. In addition, these principles have been extended to develop sister archives in cardiovascular disease and renal transplant. Myzoon coordinates contribution and access to these resources and promotes data sharing for the purposes of exploratory analyses.

Myzoon's research interests are in the use of big data to answer research questions, standardisation of outcome assessment in stroke clinical trials, establishment and use of international collaborations to coordinate stroke research.
