Abstract
Professor Ines Meyer holds the South African Research Chair in Creation of Decent Work and Sustainable Livelihood at the University of Cape Town. Through examples of her research on living wages and personal initiative for career success she outlines why she sees how we conduct academic work as equally important to the research content.
Bio
Professor Ines Meyer holds the South African Research Chair in Creation of Decent Work and Sustainable Livelihood at the University of Cape Town. Through examples of her research on living wages and personal initiative for career success she outlines why she sees how we conduct academic work as equally important to the research content. Ines Meyer grew up in Germany and studied Psychology at Philipps-University Marburg. She moved to South Africa in 2001 to study for her PhD in Social Psychology at the University of Cape Town and has lived in South Africa since. Following a brief period working in corporate and a few years as an organisational development consultant with community based organisations in resource-deprived areas she started working at the University of Cape Town in 2009.
