Join us for an engaging and thought-provoking event marking International Men’s Day 2026. This year’s theme is “Supporting Men and Boys”. This event will bring together a panel of expert speakers and contributors to explore some of the key issues affecting men in society today.
Through a series of presentations and a panel discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to examine topics including fatherhood, toxic masculinity, identity, and mental health support for men. This year's panel will comprise of Dr Matt Offord (Adam Smith Business School), Dr Sam Lawton (School of Social and Political Sciences), Sandy Main (Andy's Man Club) and Ryan Warren (Dads Rock).
The discussion will consider the challenges and opportunities facing men across different stages of life, while highlighting the importance of positive role models, healthy relationships, and accessible support networks. Speakers will share research, professional insights, and personal perspectives, encouraging open and constructive conversations about what it means to be a man in today’s world.
Whether you are interested in gender equality, wellbeing, family life, or creating more inclusive communities, this event offers a valuable opportunity to learn, reflect, and engage with a diverse range of viewpoints.
We look forward to welcoming staff, students, and members of the wider community for an afternoon of discussion, learning, and connection. Whilst the content of this session will be aimed towards men, this event is open to all!
Please be advised there will be light refreshments at this event.
