My dear mother,
in your heart I try to root my remembrances
so that you will never forget me
and my story will flourish again in your memory.

How can we explain what we feel? Are there words in the world able to express the impossible and unbearable pain we carry? Since our daughters were taken away from us, we inhabit this world without being a part of it. We carry in our hearts a void that fills each night with the tears of knowing we are incomplete without them. We have left our homes out of fear, and we feel broken inside.
However, we have gathered our pieces to continue our journey. While the authorities open investigation files riddled with impunity, we cling to life, gazing into the faces of our granddaughters and grandsons, of our other daughters and sons who, like us, are also survivors. The authorities ask for data and statistics, and instead we show them what our lives have become since our daughters were snatched away from us.
This growing rage has given us the clarity to demand justice and claim our right to live in peace and without fear. Our voice, once a mere whisper, has become a powerful echo demanding reparations for the harm inflicted on our families both by the perpetrators of femicide and the authorities through their delays and omissions. Murdered women are not piles of documents; they were women with names, stories, and dreams.
Together, we have learned the terms to demand the justice we need: swift, expedite, and with a gender perspective. In our grief, we have found each other and have done what the institutions responsible for administering justice have failed to do: keep the memory of our daughters alive. This mural is proof that our voices will not be silenced, no matter how much they continue to ignore us with their indolence and indifference.
Today, the strength of 25 mothers, indirect victims of femicide, marks the collective memory with the faces and names of our daughters because we want: Life and peace for all girls and women, in our states and the whole world!
