From Insights to Action: Celebrating the InFrame Journey
In July 2026, colleagues from the Universities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and St Andrews came together for From Insights to Action, the final event of the InFrame programme.
The event celebrated the achievements and impact of InFrame, showcasing the outcomes of the Culture Catalyst Fund (CCF) projects and the contributions of researchers, professional services staff, technicians and partners across the three universities.
Highlights included presentations from the InFrame team, CCF project showcases, opportunities for discussion and networking, and the launch of a capturing the programme's stories, outcomes and impact.
The event marked both the conclusion of InFrame and the beginning of its lasting legacy in shaping positive research cultures.
InFrame Reflections and Future Legacy
The InFrame team shared presentations highlighting key achievements from the programme: the development of the Collegial Research Leadership Framework, the creation of a Digital Leadership Development Resource, and the impact of cross-institutional collaboration on research culture. The session reflected on InFrame's enduring impact.
Culture Catalyst Fund Showcase
Attendees explored the work of the 26 Culture Catalyst Fund (CCF) projects through posters, videos and conversations with project teams.
The showcase highlighted innovative approaches to leadership, inclusion, wellbeing, collaboration, research integrity and research culture across the three universities.
26 Projects in Action
A special InFrame Final Event Booklet brought together the aims, outcomes and resources from all 26 CCF projects. The collection demonstrates the breadth of activity supported through InFrame and provides a lasting resource for colleagues interested in advancing positive research cultures.
InFrame: A model for cross-institution ethical approval and how it improves research culture
In this online event, colleagues shared their experience of developing a cross institutional ethics process and reflected on the role of ethics in research culture.
The session covered:
- Lessons learned from creating a cross institutional ethics process
- Future considerations for streamlining ethics processes
- The importance of ethics in supporting positive research cultures
- How collaboration and shared learning can strengthen ethical practice
This discussion highlights the value of ethical thinking in research culture initiatives and offers useful insights for anyone involved in collaborative research and organisational change.
InFrame: Sharing a Blueprint for Real World, Flexible Evaluation
In this session, Ros Attenborough and Anne Ploin, InFrame's evaluation leads, reflect on the challenges and lessons of evaluating a complex research culture project.
They discuss:
- A "scruffy hospitality" approach supporting openness and shared learning
- Creative ways of responding to evaluation challenges
- The need for flexible, context-sensitive evaluation approaches
- Key principles underpinning the work
As research culture initiatives continue to grow, thoughtful evaluation is essential for understanding their impact and informing future practice. We look forward to sharing InFrame's evaluation findings in future outputs and publications.
InFrame Mentoring Programme
The InFrame Mentoring Programme has launched, supporting new and emerging leaders across CCF projects by connecting team members with experienced mentors and professional allies. The programme is designed to strengthen collegial leadership, reflective learning, and professional development.
An orientation event on 18 November 2025 introduced participants to the programme, followed by mentor–mentee matching based on leadership style, lived experience, and personal goals. Mentoring conversations began in January, creating valuable opportunities for learning, connection, and support across institutions.
Mentoring is a key part of building strong research cultures, helping to boost confidence, collaboration, and psychological safety. Supported by The Coaching Catalysts, the programme will also inform the ongoing development of the InFrame Framework for Collegial Research Leadership.

Mentoring boosts job satisfaction, career success, and research impact. It strengthens collaborative leadership and psychological safety, while recognising and developing mentors.
