By participating in an InFrame event, you are agreeing to adhere to this Code of Conduct. Together, we can foster an environment that is open, welcoming and inspiring for everyone involved.

For any enquiries or concerns, please contact the event organisers at inframe@st-andrews.ac.uk.

1. Respectful Communication

  • All participants should communicate respectfully, listening to diverse perspectives and being open to constructive, kind feedback.
  • Discrimination, harassment, or any form of verbal, physical, or sexual abuse will not be tolerated.
  • We expect conversations to be collaborative, open-minded and free from offensive or inappropriate language.

2. Inclusivity

  • We strive for an inclusive atmosphere where all participants feel welcome and valued and where respect is afforded to lived experience as a form of expertise.
  • We allow any form of participation which feels comfortable for attendees and promotes equal opportunities for everyone involved in the programme.
  • Efforts should be made to create a space where everyone feels empowered to speak, share, and contribute without fear of bias or judgement.

3. Safe and Welcoming Environment

  • Participants must respect personal boundaries and seek consent in interactions, especially when engaging in any form of physical or digital activities (e.g., photographs, videos, or other recordings).
  • In case of any discomfort or incidents, event organisers and staff will be available to assist and take appropriate actions if necessary.
  • All attendees are encouraged to report any issues or concerns promptly to event organisers so that they can be addressed appropriately.

4. Confidentiality and Data Protection

  • Attendees, speakers, and staff should respect the confidentiality of sensitive information shared during the event and adhere to relevant data protection guidelines. The InFrame team will also highlight if the event is being recorded or if Chatham House Rules apply.
  • Any private data gathered during the event should be used solely for its intended purpose and in accordance with privacy laws and regulations.
  • Further information can be found in the InFrame Privacy Policy.

5. Harassment-Free Environment

  • InFrame is dedicated to providing a harassment-free environment for all. Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability, or other personal attributes, as well as deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
  • We are committed to ensuring that no one is made to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome during the event. Those engaging in harassment will be asked to leave and may be banned from future events.

6. Responsibility for Personal Behaviour

  • Every participant is responsible for their own actions and behaviour throughout the event. If any behaviour violates the Code of Conduct, it should be reported to a member of the InFrame team immediately.
  • In cases of violation, the event organisers reserve the right to take appropriate actions, including warning, suspension, or removal from the event.

7. Accessibility

  • We are committed to ensuring that our events are accessible to all, including individuals with disabilities. During planning, considerations are given to elements such as clear time-keeping, choosing accessible venues for events, accessible slide design, and use of microphones. Participants are invited to share any additional access requirements to ensure all needs are met.
  • Participants should respect any accommodations or accessibility measures put in place to ensure an inclusive experience for everyone.

8. Zero Tolerance for Substance Abuse

  • Alcohol, drugs, and other substances that impair judgement or behaviour should not be consumed in excess during the event.
  • Participants should remain mindful of their behaviour to maintain a safe and collegiate environment.

9. Reporting and Accountability

  • Any violations of this Code of Conduct should be reported immediately to a member of the InFrame team.
  • We will take all reports seriously and investigate any complaints in a fair and timely manner, ensuring accountability for all involved.
