A one-day AHRC/CRCEES event on Translation, Exile and Identity: Central and East European Women’s Writing in Dialogue and Comparison will be the first of many exciting CRCEES events for 2013.

The day will consist of talks by noted guest speakers and roundtable discussions, including a keynote address by Robert Chandler, author of Teffi and her Topsy-Turvy World: translating her language of exile.
A booklet with information about all the morning speakers, their research interests and the short text they will use for the afternoon workshop will be distributed to all participants on arrival.
The day's proceedings will culminate in an outreach event will be held in Waterstone’s Bookstore, Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow. Robert Chandler will lead a short session on translating Central and East European Women Writers and all the morning presenters will be invited to contribute.
