A Direct Debit instruction authorises the University to take money directly from your bank account. A Direct Debit can only be set up from a UK bank account. Some accounts do not permit Direct Debits, please check with your bank if you are unsure before you set up.
The University will notify you by letter or email 10 working days in advance of the first collection being made. This Advance Notice letter will detail the exact dates and amounts of the Direct Debit instalments that we will take from your account. Please retain this Advance Notice letter for your records. Direct Debits are usually taken mid-month and, for accommodation, are taken in a maximum of 7 instalments from October - April.
If you are not the account holder, you will not be able to set up a Direct Debit online. In these circumstances you will need to download a paper direct debit form from the Direct Debit pages in MyCampus. The account holder will then need to fill out and sign this paper Direct Debit form and email this to firstname.lastname@example.org (please do not send via post, as due to COVID19, our Finance staff are working from home).
If you wish to cancel your Direct Debit please do so by notifying your bank and email the Accounts Receivable Team at email@example.com to inform them of the cancellation
If you cancel your Direct Debit instruction any balance of fees still outstanding will become payable in full, immediately.
