Research title: Scots language revitalisation in the 21st century
Research Summary
I am a doctoral student in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Glasgow. My research interests fall within sociolinguistics and the sociology of language, with a particular focus on Minority languages and endangered language revitalisation, Language attitudes and ideologies, Language policy and planning, and the French-speaking world.
My PhD research explores the Scots language revitalisation in 21st century Scotland, with a focus on education. I investigate whether Scots language policies and planning initiatives align with the motivations and practices of stakeholders in education.
I also do research on Picard/Ch'ti, the local variety spoken in the Hauts-de-France.
